3, in the alkalization and etherification reaction process should be added cationic or non-ionic surfactants, and to dissolve the liquid carrier and colloid can be compatible, commonly used surfactants are dodecyl sulfate, glycerin monoester, propylene glycol fatty acid ester, the addition of about 0.05%-5% of the carrier.

4, to disperse the colloidal particles in water soluble can be miscible, water-soluble gel does not dissolve or no water in the liquid carrier medium, but to ensure that the volume of the colloidal particles is larger so that it can be fully dispersed, such carriers are mainly mono alcohols, such as methanol and ethanol, ethylene glycol, acetone and so on.

5, to add water-soluble salt in the carrier solution, but the salt can not react with colloids. Its role is mainly to prevent the water-soluble gel from forming paste or condensation or precipitation when it is still, and sodium chloride is commonly used.
